Laura Trenerry
Laura is a performer, theatre maker, producer, clown doctor & teaching artist based in Naarm (Melbourne). She is part of three award-winning ensembles - The Beryls, The Travelling Sisters & The Beaks.
She is an independent producing artist and has been producing comedy in Australia and the UK for 12 years.
Laura works with actors, theatre makers and community artists in theater & comedy workshops. She is currently working with councils in Victoria to deliver the Comedy & Connection program - an 8 week physical comedy series for older people. In 2024, Laura worked with the Brunswick East Entertainment Festival (BEEF) to deliver the Joy+ program - weekly dancing workshops for older folks with a performance outcome. She regularly designs programs for actors, schools and councils.
In 2025, she will be heading to Italy to complete ‘The Pedagogy of the Poetic Body’ theatre pedagogy course - a 3 month, full-time intensive course at the HELIKOS International School of Theatre Creation.
Laura is also a Laughter Care Specialist with The Humour Foundation. She visits aged care facilities weekly as Penny the Clown, aiming to improve wellbeing and connection with residents and staff through performance, music and storytelling.
